Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina says that he would love to move back to his former club Barcelona.
The Spaniard is on a loan spell from Liverpool to Napoli.
He is replaced by Simon Mignolet in Liverpool. He has three remaining years on contract with Liverpool but he will not be considering re-joining the reds because of Brendan Rodgers preference to Mignolet.
Where as for Barcelona, their first choice goal-keeper Victor Valdes has already declared that it will be his last season at Camp Nou.
And Reina hopes to replace him. But he also know Barca will be targeting other goalkeepers as well to replace Valdes.
“I would love to return to Barcelona. To play at Barca is a privilege. But I imagine that my name is on a list with others.” he said
“Barca is a top club and Victor Valdes’ departure will have alerted other candidates so a return will be very difficult. Right now I’m not thinking about it.
“I was fortunate to play there once and I consider myself privileged to have done that. The important thing is that I continue to do well at Napoli.”
Reina started his career from Barcelona. He played in Camp Nou from 1999 to 2002.
Reina has made fourteen appearances for Napoli this season.
